Since we are buying ripe cherry and wet parchment, we are essentially a manufacturing or production organization. A coffee production. So, we can perhaps call ourselves a coffee producer who extend our arms to also manage our own export, import, finance and storage.
Due to the popularity of this Sumatra Mandheling trademark name, this name has a little bit of price premium and therefore many coffee collectors, processors and exporters in Northern Sumatra mix or blend Sumatra green beans from different regions in Sumatra and sometimes even outside of Sumatra and label the blended greens as Sumatra Mandheling. There is not a regulation that prohibits such a practice, except only this practice of blending makes it hard to find Sumatra Mandheling green with a particular and consistent taste profile.
